Jennifer Garland is somewhat new to the Damascus Dolphins, having only been with the team for four years. However, she is not new to the water, as she has been swimming since the age of five. Jenn began her career in the water with Coach Nancy and the Mayo Swim Team. Jennifer swam in the summers for Coach Nancy until coming to Damascus. While with the Dolphins, she has qualified for the divisional meet each summer. Jenn started to swim year round at age 11 with RMSC progressing from juniors to advanced seniors to their national development team. She attended Damascus High School and swam for the Hornets all 4 years. Her accomplishments while at DHS include qualifying for Metros each year, earning the sportsmanship award, and the Stipe scholar athlete award, and was one of the Captains of the team her junior and senior years. Jennifer graduated last year from Damascus as a member of the National Honor Society, and was a Maryland Distinguished Scholar. She was awarded the Presidential Scholarship from Florida Atlantic University. Jenn is majoring in Biology and finished her freshman year on the Deans List, all while continuing her swimming career in college for the FAU Owls. Jennifer has had so much fun with the Dolphins and will miss everyone.
