Is your child finished with Basic Swim Lessons, but not yet ready for Competitive Swimming? Then, sign them up for the Porpoises, the new Damascus Dolphin Pre-Team!
This team is for kids who cannot yet swim a length of the pool with emphasis on FUN, not competition.
It is available to all kids 5 to 8 years old whose families are members of the Damascus Recreation Association.
The Porpoise team features daily sessions designed to develop proper stroke technique.
Coaches provide lots of games and activities, and a caring atmosphere where younger children can socialize.
The program features 7 Weeks of Learning for the price of two weeks of intermediate or advanced swim lessons (typical swim lessons will still be offered by the Damascus Recreation Association lifeguard staff). The cost of the
7 week session is only $65. Checks can be made out to the Damascus Swim Club.
A Swimming Skills Test will be conducted on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at 5:45 PM.
If your child cannot make it, please contact our head coach, Amethyst Tymoch at
the pool or by e-mail at
amethyst@tyrock.com to set up an alternate time. Practices start June 18th
at 10:00 AM.
After that date, we will continue to take applications and prorate Porpoise membership.
Please note that parents of porpoise swimmers
do not have to do any obligations, but we are asking the parents to monitor the
snack bar for one day this summer.
